Service «Disaster recovery»
The Disaster Recovery service is implemented on the basis of solutions that allow you to set up replication to the service provider's cloud and switch to replicas in the event of a disaster at the main site. All these operations are performed on the self-service portal of specialized software.
When providing the service, the Company guarantees that in the event of a disaster at the main site (unavailability/stoppage), it is possible to launch virtual machines located in a secure data center on the resources allocated by the Operator for a period of time specified by the client, until it can ensure the restoration of the availability of his own infrastructure.
Recovery to the cloud (cloud-based DRaaS) begins with the replication of virtual machines and consists in synchronizing the contents of virtual machines located in the client's virtual infrastructures. When you put a virtual machine on replication, a replica of the desired virtual machine is created in the selected infrastructure (at the cloud operator). According to a specified schedule, all changes that have occurred on the original VM since the creation of the replica are broadcast to this replica, i.e. synchronization takes place.
If replication is configured correctly, from time to time, two identical virtual machines will live in different infrastructures. As a result, we have a backup site with replicas (virtual machines ready to run), which can be used in case of a disaster on the main site.
What the Client gets:
- fault-tolerant resources for storing replicas of virtual machines and data;
- the ability to run replicated virtual machines in the amount of IT resources and during the time interval ordered by the Client;
- protection of allocated IT resources in accordance with information security regulations.
To use the service, the customer must have a valid license to use one of the products that includes Veeam Cloud Connect Backup and Replication (Veeam Availability Suite, Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Backup Essentials and Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows).
