Backup
The service of the Republican platform for backup and restoration of client’s virtual machines and files, which is provided according to the BaaS model – backup as a service.
beCloud provides customers with comprehensive data protection, backup and replication services.
The «Backup and recovery» service includes:
- providing the client with a cloud infrastructure (disk space) for storing the backup copies of the client's virtual machines in the required amount;
- allocation of a tenant, which provides the process of backing up the client’s virtual machines;
- backup and recovery of the client’s virtual machines hosted on the Republican platform.
The management of virtual resources within the BaaS service is carried out by the client independently through the self-service portal, with the help of which the client can configure the backup processes of his virtual machines within the limits of the requested computing resources and the allocated storage space. Credentials for access to self-service portal are provided to the client after the Service is activated. The portal is accessed via public networks.
High speed and flexibility will make it possible to implement the reliable backup at the image level of virtual machines in environment and restore virtual machines, guest OS files and application objects in a short time.
Additionally the beCloud customers have access technology, with the help of which, if necessary, you can quickly transfer backups to a cloud site hosted in a certified beCloud TIER III data centre and restore files and data from the cloud. The use of a geographically remote site for placing backups has been used before, however, with the introduction of specialized backup sites many companies prefer them both in terms of economic aspects and in terms of security and reliability. Objects for backup can be both physical servers and client’s virtual machines.
